A Community Conversation, facilitated by Solidarity & Defense, Huron Valley

Before 2018 came to a close, a bunch of us gathered to discuss care networks that we imagine beyond policing.

Our conversation touched on police funding, power mapping, recognizing our limits and building within them, multi-generational movements, and interesting projects across time and space that we can draw from—like the CAHOOTS crisis response program in Eugene that aims to replace police with mental health experts.

In the end, there was a lot of energy, and a desire to meet again, so we’d like to hold space for more brainstorming and networking.
