Bend the Bars 2019 is only a few weeks away! Bend the Bars is a day-and-a-half long conference about strategies and tactics for supporting the prisoner movement and the struggle for a world without prisons. It will take place in Lansing, Michigan from August 23 thru August 24. And you’re invited!

We recently finalized the schedule, and we are really excited to be hosting some people we really admire to lead reflections on the past few years of the prisoner movement as well as think together about the future. The conference will be a mix of former prisoners, current prisoners calling in, outside thinkers and organizers, and outside supporters dedicated to supporting the prisoner movement.

We are able to provide housing and meals, but also will be asking for donations of $10–$50, whatever you are able. The bulk of the conference will take place at the Red Cedar Friends Meeting House, 1400 Turner Rd, Lansing, MI 48906.
